Course Title
Hodge theory, period maps, and moduli
Abstract
The lectures will give an introduction to Hodge theory and its role in the study of moduli spaces. We will begin with Hodge structures, the Hodge decomposition, and the Lefschetz theorems. We will introduce period domains as parameter spaces for Hodge structures and explain how varying families of varieties give rise to period maps. As a first fundamental example, we will discuss the moduli space of elliptic curves and its interpretation through periods. Then we will generalize this study to abelian varieties.
